Creating Keepsakes Convention

I went to the CK convention today. I had so much fun and spent way too much! LoL. My favorite purchase is Technique Tuesday's Technique Tiles. They look like they'll be fun and add so much depth & dimension to my LOs. I'm not quite sure how to use them, though. I wish I had been able to take some of the classes, but there's always next year!

Here is a LO I started and finished yesterday morning. The sketch is once again from okieladybug's motivation challenge. Here is the sketch for 02/28's challenge:

Monogram LO

So I have decided to start doing layouts again and catch up on my albums. I think I'm only ~3 years behind!! LoL! Layouts scare me and I have a hard time figuring out where to place things & making it pretty with embellishments.

Well, lucky for me a wonderful person on the cricut messageboard named okieladybug has been posting bi-weekly motivation challenges that contains sketches for layouts. Could that be anymore perfect for a creatively-challenged person like myself?! Here is the sketch for 02/18's Challenge:

At first I wasn't too excited about this sketch, but after seeing everyone else's creations it inspired me. I found the perfect picture for this. It was taken January 2008 at Sears when we were doing a family portrait. It is of me and my boyfriend. Here is my LO:

February Team Challenge

Over on the cricut messageboard we have a monthly team challenge going on. This month I was a part of Team 2: Scrap Happy. February's challenge was to create a card or a layout with 2 cuts. The cuts must be a heart from any cart and the word love from any cart. I choose to do a card because layouts scare me! LoL. Here is my submission:

hearts - george
love - jasmine
heart sticker - k&co
patterned paper - k&co vday mat stack

Valentine's Day Puppy

Hello! Can you believe it's the end of January already! Time to start preparing for Valentine's day! Earlier this week, one of my coworkers asked me to make a vday card for her to give to her daughter (6 yrs old). She likes dogs, so a card with a puppy would be great. Here is what I came up with.

details
puppy - paper pups @ 3.5", shadowed & pop-dotted
heart - george @ 3" silouhette
LOVE - Heidi Swapp chipboard letters
border - MS lace heart punch

Also, I made my 2000th post on the cricut messageboard. I joined the board on May 10, 2008... that's a lot of chatting in 8.5 months! LoL!

Here is my take on the challenge over at The Cuttlebug Spot (http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/). Challenge #14 is a Valentine's day color challenge... make something for valentine's day but without any pink or red! Such a fun challenge. For this I used the Heartblock embossing folder. Also, I bought the Singer Pixie sewing machine and this was my first sewing project!
